09/15/10 at 01:08Actually they are banners at the top and bottom... The idea was for them to say "Master of my fate. Captain of my soul" But I left them blank in the interest of keeping them usable and customizable for tattoo flash. The idea came from 1930s-1950s Naval and Maritime tattoo art. The Sirens (mermaids) sybolizing the lust along with the danger and mystery of the sea. The ship for the journey. The anchor for hope of a safe return to loved ones, stars for direction (put 2 naut stars together it forms a compass). |
