Artist's Note: Being a tortured spirit, the key to this painting was to show the eternal devestation the Banshee suffers through. To emphasize the depressive pain I painted a hole on the empty chest of the Banshee where she has pulled out her own heart to try and ease the torture. The beauty of digital painting is in how fast you can look around your options and try out different possibilities to get an effect that was previously unthought of.
